Avatar Legends Modes and Features at Launch
A practical map of the launch modes supported by official material, plus where a new player should begin.

Short answer
Official launch material lists Story Mode, Arcade Mode, Offline and Online Play, and an Art Gallery. Published feature footage also shows the Training and Combo Trial learning loop used throughout this guide site.
Which modes are part of the launch package?
The official Modes and Features announcement names Story Mode, Arcade Mode, Offline Play, Online Play, and an Art Gallery. The same launch campaign describes a hand-drawn 2D fighting game built around characters from the Avatar universe.
Those labels establish the available destinations, but they do not answer every rules question. The announcement does not provide a complete Story chapter list, Arcade route table, matchmaking specification, or unlock condition list.
Where should a new player start?
Start in Training with one character. Confirm the physical buttons your setup uses for A, B, C, and Flow, then use Demo and Breakdown before repeating a Combo Trial. This keeps the learning task small and makes it easier to tell whether an input problem comes from timing, notation, or your controller mapping.
After one Trial, play an Offline match with the same fighter. Move online only after basic movement and one short sequence feel repeatable. The beginner route is intentionally about familiarity, not winning immediately.
How do Story and Arcade fit into progression?
Story Mode and Arcade Mode are separate destinations named in official launch material. Community unlock sources say Avatar Aang and Nightmare Korra can be obtained through regular Story progression, while also documenting an optional menu sequence. The exact normal Story requirements still need a first-party or independently reproduced route before this site can publish a stage-by-stage table.
Treat Arcade as a repeatable match route and Story as progression content, but follow the current in-game prompts for objectives and rewards.
What should competitive players watch next?
The launch newsletter separately names Ranked Mode, Lobbies, and Spectator Mode as priorities for upcoming patches. That means ordinary Online Play is available in the launch feature set, while those additional competitive tools should not be described as shipped until a later patch source confirms them.
Check the News hub for source-backed status changes rather than relying on an undated mode list.
